Prepare Your District for Continued Success

Dear Lion Leaders,

I’m sharing a message sent to all district governors. I’m asking district governors to work with their incoming district leaders to make sure they are prepared for success in the next Lion year. I’m also asking district leaders to encourage their clubs to host a special Family and Friends Month event in April, and to plan a service project for the Worldwide Week of Service during May 16-22. Let’s work together to make these international events a success!

Together in service,

Joe Preston

Your International President

Dear District Governor,

Thank you for your leadership, commitment, and dedication to the goals and missions of our association. I appreciate all you do to support your clubs and district, and all you are doing to Strengthen the Pride.

One of our responsibilities as leaders is to make sure that incoming leadership is trained, informed and prepared to take on their new roles. To accomplish this, they will need your help and full support to create a smooth transition of power that will position your district for success next year, and beyond. It’s an honor to guide and support our future leaders, so you should feel proud of taking on this important role.

We need to maximize the use of our time and effort in your remaining months to make sure we finish strong. Please continue to promote ASK ONE, START ONE, and KEEP ONE. It is a winning combination.

Keep roaring!!!

Make April a Membership Month
April is the perfect time to grow your district. Here are some great ways to build your membership and earn recognition in Period 2 of the Lions Pride Award:

  • Family and Friends Month in April is a great opportunity for Lions to showcase their clubs to potential new members.
  • Membership Growth Awards reward your Lions for inviting new members in April.
  • Charter a New Club to strengthen your district and stay on track for positive growth.

Work with your clubs to plan a special Family and Friends event in April, and encourage Lions to earn a Membership Growth Award in April. Let’s make April our best membership month of the year!

Worldwide Week of Service in May
Encourage your clubs to be a part of this special Centennial Service Challenge event during the week of May 16–22. It’s a great a great way for clubs to:

  • Provide needed service – Clubs host service projects that benefit youth, vision, hunger or the environment.
  • Find new members – Lions can invite the community to serve with them to showcase their clubs.
  • Earn Centennial recognition – Clubs earn a Centennial Banner Patch when they report their projects through the MyLCI Service Activity Report.

Encourage your clubs to start planning a Worldwide Week of Service project. Download the event flyer and share it with your clubs today!

Stay tuned for a special Centennial Celebration announcement on April 1st!
